Lana`i and Community Information
Lana`i is the sixth largest island in the State of Hawaii. It is also located in the middle of the state in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Growing up on Lana`i was adventurous with lots of open spaces to explore either by hiking, riding in my dad's 1942 Jeep or on horseback. Lana`i hasn't changed much through the years and will probably be the only island with minimal development.
The Dole Park commercial square is the location of most businesses. Grocers includes Pine Isle Market, Richards Market, International Food & Clothing Center. Aside from the restaurants at the resorts, local food establishments include Canoes, Blue Ginger Cafe, Pele's Other Garden Deli Bistro and Cafe 565.
There is a distinct recognition about Lana`i City. The Cook Island Pines planted in abundance at around the 1920's when the city was formed for a specific purpose, to detain passing clouds and thereby extracting moisture that provides water for approximately 3000 people currently residing on the island.
Whether you're buying a home, selling your home or relocating to the Island of Lana`i or anywhere in Hawai`i, the following information, resources and tools will help to guide your decision.
